Questions
- Do I need an account to install?
- No. Download and install Soundfox first. When you launch the app it opens a browser tab to create your account or sign in. Easy, fast, secure and takes less than 2 minutes.
- What are the system requirements?
- macOS 12 Monterey or later, or Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit). A working microphone and an internet connection.
- Is there a Linux build?
- Not yet. It's on the roadmap — let us know if you'd use it. We form the roadmap based on your feedback.
- Is my dictation private?
- Audio is sent to a third-party speech-to-text provider in real time. Soundfox only stores transcripts (and optionally the audio, if you turn it on in settings). You can delete any item from your history at any time.
- Where is the app signed and notarized from?
- macOS builds are signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Windows builds are signed via Microsoft Azure Artifact Signing. The publisher name shown by the OS matches the company on file.
