Cookie Policy
Soundfox is operated by ZeroEnd Technology AB.
This Cookie Policy explains how ZeroEnd Technology AB (“ZeroEnd”, “Soundfox”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and web dashboards (the “Sites”), and the choices you have. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
This Cookie Policy applies to our Sites. Our desktop application does not use advertising or analytics cookies; it authenticates using secure tokens stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. We also use similar technologies, such as browser local storage and pixels, which we refer to together with cookies as “cookies” in this Policy.
Cookies can be:
- First-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another provider whose service we use); and
- Session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain for a set period or until you delete them).
2. How we use cookies
We keep our use of cookies deliberately limited. We use them in the following categories.
2.1 Strictly necessary. These are required to operate the Sites and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include cookies set by our authentication provider (Clerk) to sign you in and keep your session secure, cookies used for security and load balancing, and the cookie set by our consent tool (CookieYes) to remember your cookie choices. Because these are essential, they do not require your consent.
2.2 Functional / preferences. These remember choices you make to improve your experience, such as your interface theme. Some of these preferences are stored using browser local storage rather than cookies.
2.3 Analytics / performance. These help us understand how the Sites are used so we can improve them. We use Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use tracking cookies (it derives anonymous, aggregated statistics from a daily-rotating request signal and does not track you across sites or days). Where the law requires consent for analytics, we treat analytics as a non-essential category and do not run it until you consent.
2.4 Advertising. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your personal data. We do not use Google Analytics.
3. Third-party services that set their own cookies
Some features rely on third parties that set cookies on their own pages or components, under their own policies:
- Stripe — when you go to checkout or the billing portal, Stripe handles payment on its own hosted pages and may set cookies there for payment functionality and fraud prevention.
- Clerk — sets cookies needed to authenticate you and protect against abuse.
We do not control these third-party cookies. Please review the providers’ own privacy and cookie notices for details. Our current sub-processors are listed in our Privacy Policy.
4. The cookies we use (live list)
The specific cookies in use can change as we update the Sites. Rather than maintain a list here that could fall out of date, we use our consent tool (CookieYes) to scan for, categorise, and display the current cookies. You can view the up-to-date list and the category of each cookie, and change your choices at any time, through the cookie-preferences control on our website.
5. Your choices and how to manage cookies
5.1 Consent banner (EU/EEA/UK). If you are in the EEA or the UK, we ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies (such as analytics). You can accept or reject categories, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie-preferences control on our website. Strictly necessary cookies remain active because the Sites cannot work properly without them.
5.2 Opt-out and Global Privacy Control (US). If you are in the United States, you can opt out of non-essential cookies through the same cookie-preferences control. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for any processing that could be considered “sharing” under applicable US state laws.
5.3 Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, and let you clear local storage. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Sites (including sign-in) may not work.
5.4 Do Not Track. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, we do not respond to them. We do honour the Global Privacy Control as described above.
6. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal reasons. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Where required, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie-preferences control.
